Mobile Medical Unit (Coming Up)
Primary Objectives:
- The Mobile Medical Unit is equipped with an ophthalmic unit to diagnose cataract and other vision related issues in the elderly, as well as physician, physiotherapist and physiotherapy equipment. The purpose of the MMU is as follows:
- To provide comprehensive health care service (preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative) to the elderly, located in rural areas, who are unable to reach health facilities.
- To diagnose cataract and other vision issues especially in the elderly by an ophthalmologist and further arrange for their eye surgery and recuperation.
- To prescribe and dispense medicines on the spot for common ailments by a general physician and referral to hospital for needy cases.
- To diagnose and manage pain by a physiotherapist through movement, exercise, manual therapy, help people affected by injury, illness, or disability and restore movement and function.
- To imbibe positive health seeking behavior by creating awareness about active aging, inoculation, and exercises to ensure pain free good health status.
Secondary Objectives:
- To improve the functionality and quality of life of the elderly of villages and rural areas especially aspirational districts.
- To provide basic health care against non-communicable diseases.
- To reduce hospitalization and mortality of the elderly population.
